The unique bolt action shape allows for one fluid motion to advance or retract the refill. Because the surfaces of both the interior part and the inside surface have been carefully machined to be extra smooth, the action feels amazingly satisfying. The Standard [5.6"] comes with a Pilot G2 0.7 mm refill, the Short [5.1"] comes with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium refill, and the Mini [4.4"] comes with a Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm refill. Many of our customers like to use their own personal favorites, however, and so we put together a list of compatible refills that work with our pens.

And there are four options to choose from: titanium, copper, bronze, and zirconium. We picked those four because they're popular, fun to machine, and can withstand a lifetime of use.

TITANIUM

Tough, lightweight, extremely corrosion resistant, and the best-selling material we work with. If this is your first Tactile Turn product, we recommend starting with titanium.

COPPER

One of the few metallic elements with a natural color other than gray or silver. Naturally antimicrobial, copper will patina and darken with time and use.

BRONZE

Consisting mostly of copper, tin, and other metals like aluminum, manganese, nickel, or zinc. Bronze machines beautifully and looks great when highly polished or with some patina.

ZIRCONIUM

Directly below titanium on the periodic table with similar corrosion resistance. Zirconium is difficult to machine and one of the most expensive materials we work with but lustrous, dark grey color looks amazing.

    MY BEST PEN EVER

    Built like a you know what. Beautifully machined. Very little resistance when putting ink to paper. Love how the rings machined into the barrel produces a very firm grip. Great job guys!

    Quality Build, Solid Craftsmanship

    Never in my life did I anticipate spending $100 on a pen but I treated myself. The weight of the copper pen cannot go unnoticed. This thing is solid and has already developed a nice patina. The bolt action is bit stiff for my personal preference but I've also not attempted to adjust the spring. Would certainly buy again and highly recommend to anyone with the disposable income. These things are made to last!

    Bolt Action Copper

    This is the best pen I've ever owned. The machined grooves feel really good and the weight is perfect. I was worried that a heavier pen would be harder to control but it's honestly easier to control than a factory G2. It was easy to remove the pen refill and replace it with a .05 Pilot G2 carriage. Perfect in every way.
