Because the surfaces of both the interior part and the inside surface have been carefully machined to be extra smooth, the action feels amazingly satisfying. The Standard [5.6"] comes with a Pilot G2 0.7 mm refill, the Short [5.1"] comes with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium refill, and the Mini [4.4"] comes with a Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm refill. Many of our customers like to use their own personal favorites, however, and so we put together a list of compatible refills that work with our pens.

And there are four options to choose from: titanium, copper, bronze, and zirconium. We picked those four because they're popular, fun to machine, and can withstand a lifetime of use.

TITANIUM

Tough, lightweight, extremely corrosion resistant, and the best-selling material we work with. If this is your first Tactile Turn product, we recommend starting with titanium.

COPPER

One of the few metallic elements with a natural color other than gray or silver. Naturally antimicrobial, copper will patina and darken with time and use.

BRONZE

Consisting mostly of copper, tin, and other metals like aluminum, manganese, nickel, or zinc. Bronze machines beautifully and looks great when highly polished or with some patina.

ZIRCONIUM

Directly below titanium on the periodic table with similar corrosion resistance. Zirconium is difficult to machine and one of the most expensive materials we work with but lustrous, dark grey color looks amazing.

    Great Pen

    My 2nd standard bolt action pen purchase. I like the color, the heft, and the bolt action. I traded the ink cartridge out to a red G2 extra fine (0.5mm), which I like a lot better as my handwriting is atrocious.

    This is a heavy pen that feels like you are really working with a piece of art. Love the feel but had to change the ink to a ball point. Otherwise, PERFECT!!!

    Great pen, very well made and quickly a favorite

    I have been using this pen for a while now and couldn’t be happier. Extremely well made, ideal weight and outstanding feel. The ability to have engraving for more than three letters makes it ideal for personalization. Now I really want the zirconium!

    Well-made, heavy pen. You wont forget it in your shirt pocket. The ink flows effortlessly and glides on the page. Engraving came out great. Perfect gift for a pilot.
