The unique bolt action shape allows for one fluid motion to advance or retract the refill. Because the surfaces of both the interior part and the inside surface have been carefully machined to be extra smooth, the action feels amazingly satisfying. The Standard [5.6"] comes with a Pilot G2 0.7 mm refill, the Short [5.1"] comes with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium refill, and the Mini [4.4"] comes with a Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm refill. Many of our customers like to use their own personal favorites, however, and so we put together a list of compatible refills that work with our pens.

And there are four options to choose from: titanium, copper, bronze, and zirconium. We picked those four because they're popular, fun to machine, and can withstand a lifetime of use.

TITANIUM

Tough, lightweight, extremely corrosion resistant, and the best-selling material we work with. If this is your first Tactile Turn product, we recommend starting with titanium.

COPPER

One of the few metallic elements with a natural color other than gray or silver. Naturally antimicrobial, copper will patina and darken with time and use.

BRONZE

Consisting mostly of copper, tin, and other metals like aluminum, manganese, nickel, or zinc. Bronze machines beautifully and looks great when highly polished or with some patina.

ZIRCONIUM

Directly below titanium on the periodic table with similar corrosion resistance. Zirconium is difficult to machine and one of the most expensive materials we work with but lustrous, dark grey color looks amazing.

    Great pen, very well made and quickly a favorite

    I have been using this pen for a while now and couldn’t be happier. Extremely well made, ideal weight and outstanding feel. The ability to have engraving for more than three letters makes it ideal for personalization. Now I really want the zirconium!

    Beautiful and well built

    I am very happy with this pen. The build quality is excellent and it feels very sturdy. I know that this pen will last a long time and be able to take a beating along the way. The design is simple but elegant. The length is made up of fine ridges that give it the tactile feel unlike other pens. These ridges even hide all joints where the pen comes apart for refills. Refills are easily found online or at office supply stores.

    Purchase as a thesis defense gift - they loved it!
