Exploration in icy conditions requires careful planning to survive the treacherous landscape. Inspired by the natural phenomenon when a glacier moves in a rapid, chaotic manner, Icefall's unique, marbled finish is a mixture of white, gray, and blue Cerakote meant to imitate the crevassed surface of its namesake. Light blue accents on the button and clip bring out the blue in the body while an iceberg icon engraving completes the look and reminds us that there's always more beneath the surface. Offered with an optional Titanium Damascus clip upgrade that's been acid-etched to complete the look. And for those concerned with our haphazard usage of unrelated places and formations like icebergs, glaciers, snowy mountains, and polar regions, we're reminded of a quote by Ernest Shackleton in a fireside chat with Sir Edmund Hillary – "Ice is ice."

The Standard [5.8"] comes with a Pilot G2 0.7 mm refill, the Short [5.3"]comes with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium refill, and the Mini [4.6"] comes with a Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm refill. Many of our customers like to use their own personal favorites, however, so we put together a list of compatible refills that work with our pens.

What's an Icefall?
We debated for weeks whether to call it Glacier, Polar, or something more obvious but eventually settled on Icefall after reading about Hillary and Norgay's route to the top of Everest in 1953. Their first camp was below the Khumbu Icefall, a glacier moving up to 1.2m down the flank of the mountain each day – causing massive crevasses and instability.
Custom Cerakote Finishing
Cerakote is a thin coating of ceramic that's applied to the surface of our titanium pens. It's abrasion, chemical, temperature, and scratch-resistant but not proof. Hard wear will still show on Cerakote but we love that it gives us the ability to put colors on our pens without adding serious weight or thickness.

This pen is actually much better looking than the photos indicate. The subtly of colors is quite striking. It works like all of their pens, at least the push button ones and the click and release are very fidget like and quite satisfying. Highly recommended products. I own several and have given several as gifts. All of them work flawlessly and are a pleasure to use and own.

After watching a silly amount of pen reviews, I bought 3 pens at the same time. I got the limited edition standard size icefall titanium side button, the limited edition standard size thick titanium bolt action, and I got the stone washed titanium bolt action by big design.
Immediately I enjoyed the tactile turn pens more then the big design. The texture of the tactile turn pens just feels better in my hands, the pens also have more heft and have that high quality vibe.
The big design does fit a ton of refills, but the lightness and unnaturally smooth texture make it feel plasticity. Since I love the pilot refills anyway I now have buyers remorse about the big design.
My favorite of all three is by far the thick titanium, it's a shame that it's a limited edition because it is a work of art. The bolt action is so incredibly satisfying and it's a joy to write with. I work in a doctors office and use it during patient intakes for my notes, I have to get a patient signature at the end and I get compliments on it all the time.
A thick Titanium Damascus bolt action would be my dream pen, I hope one is offered in the future.

I purchased both the regular and slim models, thinking I would give one away as a gift. But I ended up with them both. They are both of high quality build and finish. The mechanism works well and the clip works well without bending out of shape. The push button mechanism works easily and the retraction button works perfectly. The one thing I would recommend is a way to lock the push button so it doesn't open/extend in your pocket-I guess you could put more a higher pressure spring so that it won’t open to easily push itooiioo
