Micarta is created by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper and linen or canvas cloth impregnated with synthetic resin. Created by Westinghouse in the late 1800s, the material is comparable to G10 in that they're both resin-based composites – the difference being Micarta uses fabric whereas G10's base ingredient is glass fibers. With a wide range of color options and styles, Micarta offers a rugged-yet-stylish look with a warmness that only gets better with time and use.

The weight is amazing, but the usually excellent machining is not present, the tip is slightly off and misshapen . Not a fan, I appreciate tactile turns precision machining, but on my micarta bolt I am disappointed . For reference I have 9 tactile turn pens and pencils.

My Micarta Bolt Action Pen is an outstanding product. It feels great when writing and looks very sharp! When my pen arrived, it was hard to write with, so I sent an Email to Customer Service and was told by Mr. Andrew Aguilar that the ink insert was defective. He sent me several replacements, and now my pen is writing flawlessly! Tactile Turn is now my only place to purchase pens, this company has incredible products and great customer service!

Exactly what I expected, but I honestly didn’t fully know what to expect. My only concern is weather non-metal threads will hold up over time - kinda expected them to be metal. Overall- a very well made and high quality pen.
