Based on the Magnus ClickShift™ V1, our version is rebuilt from the ground up to simplify production, tighten up the action, and improve the overall feel. The three-piece mechanism is machined grade 5 titanium and a C63000 bronze actuator switch to provide a smooth action while maintaining durability. It's the same diameter as our other slim pens and same refill compatibility as our short length. Enjoy!

How did this come about?
We first reached out to Magnus about the ClickShift pens he was making a while ago when the V1s were out of production and he had plans on making the V2s. We followed up in early 2024 to see if he'd be interested in licensing the mechanism and, thankfully, he agreed. We think the mechanism is one of the coolest ones around and we're excited to bring our version in production.
What do you look for in mechanisms?
We're always on the lookout for new mechanisms. When Will saw the Mitsubishi Boxy pens a few years ago he immediately wanted to do an all-metal version so we made it happen with the Side Click. Since then, we've been on the lookout for mechanisms that meet three basic requirements: 1) Manufacturable, 2) Reliable, 3) Satisfying/Fidgety. It's fairly easy to get one or two of those things but much harder to do all three.
Why just one length and diameter?
We're keeping things simple for launch with only one size and material. This mechanism is a little longer than the Bolt Actions or Side Clicks so we felt it'd be too long if we did it in the Pilot G2 size. We might do other variants in the future but, at least for now, wanted to gauge interest with titanium.

The backstory on how Tactile Turn licensed the click mechanism from Magnus sold me on this pen. I've bought a fair number of gizmos from him over the years so I knew it had great promise. I thoroughly enjoy writing with this pen and, as a lefty, can click to myt heart's content.

I could sit here review this band it’s awesome. What else do I need to say? I have eight or 10 other tactile turns On my dresser, this is by far my favorite one I’m a fidgeter And this things just plain addictive. And I know he’s gonna come out with another model another variation of this and copper or some other metal or some theme like deep space or aliens or something and then I’m gonna have to buy one of those as well. I should just put them on my bank account.
