Based on the Magnus ClickShift™ V1, our version is rebuilt from the ground up to simplify production, tighten up the action, and improve the overall feel. The three-piece mechanism is machined grade 5 titanium and a stainless steel or C63000 bronze actuator switch to provide a smooth action while maintaining durability. Due to the popularity of the first version, released in 2024, we made a slight tweak to the design and are excited to offer the slim diameter version in Standard and Short lengths for ink refill compatibility and multiple finishes. Also available in a Standard Diameter.

Questions & Answers

How did this come about?

We first reached out to Magnus about the ClickShift pens he was making a while ago when the V1s were out of production and he had plans on making the V2s. We followed up in early 2024 to see if he'd be interested in licensing the mechanism and, thankfully, he agreed. We think the mechanism is one of the coolest ones around and we're excited to bring our version in production.

What do you look for in mechanisms?

When Will saw the Mitsubishi Boxy pens a few years ago he immediately wanted to do an all-metal version so we made it happen with the Side Click. Since then, we've been on the lookout for mechanisms that meet three basic requirements: 1) Manufacturable, 2) Reliable, 3) Satisfying/Fidgety. It's fairly easy to get one or two of those things but much harder to do all three.

Why just one length and diameter?

We're keeping things simple for launch with only one size and material. This mechanism is a little longer than the Bolt Actions or Side Clicks so we felt it'd be too long if we did it in the Pilot G2 size. We might do other variants in the future but, at least for now, wanted to gauge interest with titanium.

    Very nice

I have a nice pen from Billett Spin and really enjoy that one. However I believe I like this pen from Tactile Turn even better. It feels very nice to hold and use and I really appreciate the fine craftsmanship. The fidget experience is lovely and fun. The pen writes very well. It’s a good sturdy weight but not too heavy. I keep it in my military uniform pocket and the clasp is perfectly sturdy and snug fit, which I really appreciate and know it will hold up forever basically. I like this slim style and shorter length. Excellent design and build and I look forward to buying the other designs and any future builds

Great pen. The slim form factor allows for a precise handling. Although it does not feel as comfortable, it looks great and writes well. The switch mechanism is also really well done. It has robust mechanics and wonderful feedback. Could not ask for a better start to this mechanism.

    Ohhhh she good....

I have had a handful of other metal pens. Started with a CRKT. Then Benchmades and had several. Then had a couple of the Surefire dudes, which were my favorite and their customer service is awesome. (Unlike Benchmade). However, the Surefire pen seems to get the actual ink cartridge bound up in the tip and I constantly have to replace the cone and / or the ink cartridge, the clips bends pretty easily if you get it hooked on your steering wheel or something, and lastly, even with the rubber o-ring, the cone comes somewhat regularly.

I saw the mini version of the switch pen at a knife store in Jackson, Wyoming and fell in love. I have pretty big hands so I got on the waiting list for the full size machined switch pen. Super excited to open it up a few minutes ago. The switch is so satisfying! Easy actuation, not so big that I am concerned with it catching on things. Precise flick "out" and a very pleasing "plunk" as you flip it to retract the ink. The pocket clip, which I was able to order engraved, is wicked sturdy and I think will likely tear anything it gets hooked on before it bends. The cone seam is so smooth that I allllmost cannot see it between the machined grooves that give the pent he stonewashed texture. Came with the parker ink, which I am not the biggest fan of since I write with either hand and my left hand ends up smearing the ink. No biggie, just jumped on amazon and ordered the Pentel refills that I prefer.

Oh, and I think I ordered it on the 21st and got it…

    Amazing!

I have many TT pens and this is a really cool addition! The mechanism is really satisfying to use and seems very simple but I know a lot went into this design and functionality. As always the finish and machining is top tear and I am very satisfied with this purchase!
