Bolt Action Pen

Incredible build quality and aesthetics. I love the way the ridges hide the seams to make it look like one piece. They also reflect sunlight in a magnificent repeating rainbow pattern that I spend too much of my work day looking at. The tactile sensation they create was a little weird at first, hard to describe, but I really dig it now and the grip is unparalleled in my experience. Glad I went with the full size at it is very comfortable for quick or extended writing but still pocketable. The clip easily slides onto and securely grasps my pocket without feeling as though it will bend to smithereens if I sit or move wrong like many cheap pens I’ve used. Even the titanium version is quite heavy, but in a good way with nice balance. Bolt action is novel to me and the fidget factor is woah. It was a little stiff and sticky at first, but it has gotten really satisfyingly slidey clicky after some break in. The attention to detail is evident throughout, but particularly in the bevels on the channel the bolt slides through. I use Zebra Sarasa ink as I like their dark green and it fits and writes nicely enough for me without modification.

I went with the shorter pen that uses the Parker style refill. The bolt action is very smooth and satisfying, the texture of the pen is great and provides a little sensor distraction. The Schmidt refill that came standard flows well and is nice and dark. As a lefty I have to be a little careful to avoid smearing. It was a splurge but as long as I don’t lose it I plan to be using this pen decades from now.
