Three Designs, One Purpose: A Pen You’ll Keep for Life.

Here at Tactile Turn, we specialize in 3 distinct, all-metal mechanisms: the Bolt Action, Side Click, and Switch. Each are precision-machined, satisfying, and guaranteed to last for generations – it mostly comes down to what kind of fidget you like and how the pen will be used (e.g., desk, pocket, notebook).

Every pen we sell is designed, programmed, manufactured, finished, assembled, and shipped from our Dallas shop and we pride ourselves on quality products and customer service. If something goes wrong we'll make it right, simple as that.

If this is your first machined pen we recommend starting with a Titanium Bolt Action Standard + custom clip engraving. It's durable, lightweight, and our best seller for a few years running.

02 Materials

Premium Metals & Composites Made to Last

This is where things start getting complicated. A huge draw to the world of machined pens is the variety of material and finishes. Take titanium for example. The shiny raw finish can be stonewashed a dark matte gray, coated in black DLC, anodized to pop with color, coated in Cerakote paint, or any number of treatments. Even the exact same base material can have countless looks and feels. Then you throw in all the other metals and composites... it can feel overwhelming but that's the fun part.

There is no "perfect" material but there's also no "wrong" one either. If you want something heavy that will patina with time and use, look to Copper and Bronze. For something lighter, look to Titanium, Ultem, Micarta, or G10. Start a collection and swap them out based on occasion or mood.

03 Lengths

Sized for Your Grip (and Your Favorite Ink)

Whether you’re a writer, note-taker, list-maker, or sketcher, the pen you carry every day should fit the way you write. At Tactile Turn, we offer three distinct pen lengths: Standard, Short, and Mini, each designed to work with different styles of ink refill.

Here’s how they compare:

MOST POPULAR

Standard Length

Refill Style: Euro-Style
Comes With: Pilot G2 0.7mm Gel Ink
Best For: People who prefer a full-length pen and want the widest variety of refill options.

This is our most versatile and most popular length. It fits "Euro-style" refills, which are a common format used by dozens of brands. The included Pilot G2 0.7mm is a smooth, consistent gel ink that’s easy to find and loved by millions. But the real magic is that it’s not proprietary—this pen body fits a huge range of gel, rollerball, and even ballpoint refills, so you can choose the ink style and brand you love most.

Popular Compatible Refills: Pilot G2, Schmidt 888 and 588 Rollerball, Monteverde Euro Gel, Parker-style with adapter

Short Length

Refill Style: Parker-Style
Comes With: Schmidt EasyFlow 9000
Best For: People who want a more compact pen with smooth, quick-drying hybrid ink.

The Short length offers a slightly more compact feel without compromising comfort. It uses "Parker-style" refills—one of the most widely used formats in the world. These refills tend to be a little shorter and are typically ballpoint or hybrid ink (like the EasyFlow 9000 we include). That means they write for ages without drying out and are perfect for quick notes or long meetings.

Popular Compatible Refills: Schmidt EasyFlow 9000, Fisher Space Pen (with adapter), Parker QuinkFlow, Monteverde Soft Roll

Mini Length

Refill Style: Pilot G2 Mini Only
Comes With: Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm Gel
Best For: Ultra-minimalists who want something pocketable, travel-friendly, and fun.

Designed to disappear in your pocket and reappear when inspiration strikes, the Mini is small—but mighty. It only uses the Pilot G2 Mini refill, which offers the same bold, inky performance as the full-size version in a more compact form.

Important to Know: The G2 Mini is the only refill this pen is built for and, unfortunately, Pilot doesn't sell just the refills. When they run out, you'll need to purchase a complete pen and discard the plastic.

One Great Pen. Built to Stay With You.

You’re not just picking a pen, you’re choosing a tool that’ll be with you for years. Designed to be used hard, customized to your taste, and backed by our lifetime warranty.
