You asked for it...

After releasing the popular Slim Switch in 2024 we're excited to offer a standard diameter version with deep-carry clip in multiple finishes and lengths for more ink refill compatibility. Based on the Magnus ClickShift™ V1, our version is rebuilt from the ground up to simplify production, tighten up the action, and improve the overall feel. The three-piece mechanism is machined grade 5 titanium and a stainless steel or C63000 bronze actuator switch to provide a smooth action while maintaining durability.

Note: One difference from our previous version apart from the thicker diameter and bent clip is the position of the "switch" is higher up on the pen, making the overall length shorter and comparable to our Bolt Action pens.

Questions & Answers

How did this come about?

We first reached out to Magnus about the ClickShift pens he was making a while ago when the V1s were out of production and he had plans on making the V2s. We followed up in early 2024 to see if he'd be interested in licensing the mechanism and, thankfully, he agreed. We think the mechanism is one of the coolest ones around and we're excited to bring our version in production.

What do you look for in mechanisms?

When Will saw the Mitsubishi Boxy pens a few years ago he immediately wanted to do an all-metal version so we made it happen with the Side Click. Since then, we've been on the lookout for mechanisms that meet three basic requirements: 1) Manufacturable, 2) Reliable, 3) Satisfying/Fidgety. It's fairly easy to get one or two of those things but much harder to do all three.

Why just one length and diameter?

We're keeping things simple for launch with only one size and material. This mechanism is a little longer than the Bolt Actions or Side Clicks so we felt it'd be too long if we did it in the Pilot G2 size. We might do other variants in the future but, at least for now, wanted to gauge interest with titanium.

    Best mechanism ever

I really love the Switch mechanism. Look forward to getting another when they get it in other metals like preps bronze.

High quality, satisfying pen to use

Good looking, high quality pen. The switch mechanism is quite nice. Smooth mechanism that makes opening and closing the pen more satisfying.

Fantastic - superb fidget toy and quality pen

The switch is fun to play with - I have to be mindful of muting my mic on teams calls if it's in my hand. Heft is good, lenth is good and the included refill a smooth writer

    Fidget spinner not needed

This pen is great, not surprisingly coming from Tactile Turn. I have a few other from them, all bolt actions. This is my first Switch pen. It is so fidgety. A fidget spinner is not needed with this pen around.

Ordered a 2nd one as a back up

I don't have money coming out of my ears, but this pen is so good I bought a second . I think I would go through withdrawals without it. And do yourself a huge favor and buy the 'Blue/black Monteverde Capless Gel Refills to Fit Parker' refills. You won't want to stop writing.

    Nice weight and action

Was surprised by the heft, but have grown to like it. I catch myself flipping the switch during conversations at my desk. Good and bad I guess. Nice pen so far.
