Normally, yes. We tend to stick with materials like titanium, copper, and bronze because of their toughness and corrosion resistance. Ultem, however has high mechanical strength and heat resistance which makes it ideal for harsh environments. Natural and Black are easy to find but additional colors is rare. Thankfully, we were finally able to get our hands on a special run of opaque Green and Blue from a mill that had a small batch left over.

The Standard [5.6"] comes with a Pilot G2 0.7 mm refill and the Short [5.1"] comes with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium refill, and the Mini [4.4"] comes with a Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm refill. Many of our customers like to use their own personal favorites, however, and so we put together a list of compatible refills that work with our pens.
Introducing New Colors
Colored Ultem has been on our wish list since the day we first introduced the material to our lineup but the answer from suppliers and mills has always been the same: material small enough to make pens is rare and the only way to get it is to custom order a GIANT production run of a single color. That is, until our distributor was able to secure some leftover material from a mill that had just finished a large run and had some leftover. The colors are opaque like the black material and it might be years until we get more.

My first (and won’t be last) TT purchase! I chose the blue ultem which is an amazing turquoise color. Feels very durable in the hand. Expertly machined so that it appears seamless. The only minor suggestion I have would be the direction of the bolt would be more comfortable/ergonomic (for righties—it’s perfect for lefties) if it tracked the opposite direction (away from your thumb). So happy with this purchase that I’ve used it every day since receiving it!

Exceeded all expectations for form, fit, and function. The black ultem has a terrific feel in hand similar to a matte ebonite. Tactile feel is off the chart good. Can’t find a single flaw except maybe the spring is on the heavy side new. It should compress over time. Purchased the fill spacer too for exercising the gamut of possibilities on refill fitment. Would not hesitate to buy same pen. Plan to pick up a Ti model soon. Great service. Great pen. Glad I found this one. Perfect for daily work in my technical office. 5 thumbs up!

I usually keep it in my chest pocket or shoulder pocket, and this size is just right. It has a good grip and is easy to handle even in harsh conditions such as rainy weather. The design is excellent, and it's something I can boast about to others.

Really enjoy this pen! I've never seen ultem colors other than black and amber before, and the shade of green on this one is really nice. Just a tiny hint of teal, but still definitely green.
The material works great with the spiral engraving -- the ridges are crisp and distinct like they are on the metal versions, rather than the G10 which has a much smoother feel.
I have small hands, and the larger diameter of the non-metal bodies is right on the edge of being too big. The size difference between this and the metal bodies is small on paper, but very noticeable in the hand. It still works for me, and for someone with average or larger hands, might even be an improvement.
Overall, a great pen like everything I've ever received from TT!
