The soft matte body truly looks like stone and contrasts with the metallic copper tip and cap. The whole pen’s cerakote finish offers a hardened protective layer but isn’t immune to scratches—the lighter colors of the body do show wear when carried with other gear rubbing against it. Not a huge problem for me, but notable for collectors.

The clip is by far my favorite part, with deep topographic engravings taken from the Guadalupe Mountains in Texas.

The side click mechanism is ergonomic and simple to use.

The short size is great for a wide variety of refill compatibility, but the included black medium Schmidt ink leaves a bit to be desired. Again, all subject to opinion.

Overall, I think the Off Grid side click pen is an absolute winner for camping/off-roading/overlanding enthusiasts who love a premium-feeling tool. Sure, spending $150 on a pen is crazy to most people, but having an heirloom piece that can be used practically on an everyday basis is really neat to have.

A product with a high level of finish, The fine roughness allows for a comfortable and pleasant feeling in the hand. Allows for continuous writing without stopping. I will add that the pen in its long version is a little heavy for everyday writing, but its overall qualities make me approach it every day anew.

This is my first ever pen from Tacrile Turn! Absolutely love the colorway and the quality of the pen. The clicking action is very smooth, very fidgety and overall a joy to write with in the hand. The laser engraving on the pocket clip adds a subtle touch of ruggedness to the already outdoorsy style the pen gives off. It truly is a pen meant for being out in nature to write with. Great job with this one Tactile Turn.

Gave this to a close friend who is retiring. He is an outdoors type of guy and has very little debt, all he wants in life: wonderful wife, kids grown and in good health, good health, etc. What do you give that man?? A custom pen from Tactile Turn. He absolutely loved it.
