Slider or Glider? This question is usually the first thing people ask about.
The Slider is slightly shorter and comes with a Schmidt Easy Flow 9000 medium point with black ink and will fit all other "Parker style" refills.
The Glider is the slightly longer version that comes with a 0.7mm Pilot G2 with black ink refill. These are a little easier than the old pens to allow refills to fit and most require no modification at all for many different refills.
Both pens fit well in almost all hands, though if you have larger hands you might be more comfortable with a Glider. Sliders tend to fit better in shirt pockets without sticking out.

CNC Machined Pens
Tactile Turn was one of the first fully machined pen manufacturers. We don't do injection molded parts like most other pens. We make parts one by one on our computer numerically controlled lathes in our own shop in Texas. We buy the best equipment available, the best material available, and turn raw materials into finished goods. We never skimp on quality, as everything we make is designed to be an heirloom quality item. We want you to pass these on to your children. People buy Tactile Turn pens because they want an item with simple and elegant design made from amazing materials that will withstand daily use for life.
Tactile Turn pens are known for their texture. It's where our name comes from. The tactile feeling when you pick one of these pens up is hard to describe, but it allows you to control the pen exactly the way you want. Machined pens often forget about grip, or have uncomfortable grips. It won't bite into your skin, but it provides just the right amount of grip. It is subtle, but it also protects the pens from light scratches by providing a textured surface that disguises light scratches much better than a smooth surface.
Bolt ActionThe main piece that makes these pens really interesting is the bolt action. I use a shape unlike any other pen out there. It is one fluid motion to advance or retract the refill. Because the surfaces of both the interior part and the inside surface have been carefully machined to be extra smooth, the action feels amazingly satisfying.
Standard vs Titanium Damascus Bolt
We are nearly out of Damascus steel and while we are waiting for more (probably won't have any until the end of 2019), we are happy to offer Titanium Damascus bolts.
Titanium Damascus is different alloys of titanium that are forged together and twisted to create a cool pattern and after they are machined we heat them to bring out the pattern. Every bolt looks a little different. These are unique pieces and every one has variation from the next. Take a look at the photo that shows a few examples before selecting this option.
This is just the bolt that you push on to advance and retract the mechanism for the Slider and Glider Pens and the Pencil. It is not the internal part, only the bolt that advances and retracts the mechanism.
Copper is the heaviest material these pens are made from. They’re still reasonable at 2.2 ounces, but if you want a lightweight pen, copper is not for you. We do not coat any of our pens, so this material will patina and darken with time and use. This is one of the coolest properties of copper - it ages and richens with time.
The copper content in the alloy we use is extremely high so it has the best natural antimicrobial properties for those of you that want a pen that you can let others use and still feel like you don't have to scrub grime off every day. All parts of these pens are made from copper except the clip and bolt which are stainless steel.
