What interesting times we're living in...

As everyone is asked to keep their social distance game on point, we are getting some much needed time to reevaluate aspects of our lives and the contents of our freezers. What really matters? To what lengths are we willing to make personal sacrifices to keep others around us safe? And what does a machine shop that makes pens have to say about any of this?

To be honest -- not much.

But, even though we’ve had to cut down on some shifts, the show must go on. We can’t offer a lot but it just so happens that some of the materials we work with like copper are fairly antimicrobial. A recent NIH-led study found that a form of coronavirus can remain viable for up to 2-3 days on plastic and stainless steel, 24 hours on cardboard, but only 4 hours on copper.

The copper alloy we use is over 99% copper and the bronze alloy is more than 81% copper. Now, does that mean these pens will save lives? Of course not. But doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers have always been one of our most loyal customer groups not just because of the antimicrobial properties but also because they stand up to the harsh chemicals and disinfectants used in hospitals.

These products will do more good sitting in your hands than in our shop so, from now until the end of the month, we are offering 25% off on all of our copper and bronze pens using the code SAFE at checkout.

Stay safe out there,

Will Hodges
